5 Back-to-School Safety Tips.

Millions of kids around the world are heading back to school with a challenge they didn't have to face 2 years ago.
The Omicron variant is fueling a nationwide Covid-19 surge that is sending hundreds to hospitals daily and this sounds scary to the average parent.

Schools are more than a place for kids to learn. They are also a safe places to be while their parents are working, and they support kids' physical, mental, social, and emotional health and well-being, so it is important that kids return to school and be rest assured that there are measures to be taken to stay healthy and safe.

Uncertainty and fear due to the pandemic can stress kids out and it is better for kids to be comfortable about the thought of going back to school.
However, as parents, you should ensure that your children are protected, by making sure that they adhere to the safety protocols as you prepare for your kids to return to the classroom.
Everyone, that is, teachers, principals and even the kids, are expected to do their part to help ensure students and staff stay healthy in school, and that’s why today we would be talking about how the kids can stay safe as they go back to school.
Here are five ways to help ensure you send your kids back to school safely:

1. Follow updates on Kids Vaccine in Nigeria.

Being fully vaccinated is one of the best measures you can take to keep you and your family safe. If you haven’t gotten an update on if or not your COVID-19 vaccines are available yet, keep tabs on the news.

2. Reinforce the everyday precautions.

As you prepare to send your kids back into the classroom, be sure to reinforce the everyday COVID-19 precautions they will need to keep in mind, as well as what makes these precautions so effective:
- Social distancing.
- Wearing a mask.
- Washing your hands. (Sing the happy birthday song while you do)

3. Know and understand the safety measures being implemented.

It's important to make sure that your child's school is adhering to the recommendations given by public health officials — implementing every plan and measure needed to keep your child safe while in school.

4. Ask the right questions when the kids get to school. For example:

Ask the school authorities,
* if the teachers and staff been vaccinated?
* What changes have been made to classrooms, hallways, cafeterias and buses to ensure social distancing?
* Will hand-washing opportunities be frequent and hand sanitizer readily available? Etc.

5. Listen to your child's concerns.

It's important your child feels comfortable expressing any concerns or anxiety he or she may have about returning to school during the pandemic, so try to be as available and prepared as possible.
